WCAG 2.1 AA, in both themes.

The target we hold this site and every platform to, the known gaps, and where to tell us.

Our target

memberwright.com aims to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. The same target applies to every platform we build, and we test it in both the light and the dark theme.

What we have done

  • Every text and background pair is measured, not estimated, in both themes and at desktop and phone widths. Body text meets 4.5:1 and large text 3:1.
  • Every page has one level-one heading and a logical heading order, a skip link, and visible focus outlines.
  • The site works with a keyboard alone, including the menus, the theme toggle, the start questions and the request forms.
  • Touch targets are at least 44 pixels, and no page scrolls sideways on a phone.
  • Motion follows your reduced-motion setting: with it on, things appear without moving and moving backgrounds stop. Animations also pause when they are off screen, and the project carousel, which moves on its own, has a pause button.
  • Every page arrives as finished HTML, so it can be read even if JavaScript fails to load.
  • Forms have visible labels, help text and errors that say what to do, and the start questions announce each step to screen readers.

Known gaps

  • Product screens and moving diagrams, such as the dashboard, the patchwork diagram and the orb, are decorative. They are hidden from screen readers and described in the words around them, rather than read out row by row.
  • One sentence on the homepage fills in word by word as you scroll. With reduced motion it is shown in full straight away.
  • The prototype at memberwright.com/demo is a separate sample app and has not yet been tested to the same standard.
